By reading and processing the variable data now commonplace on many printed items our systems inspect, verify, track and report on millions of documents, printed pieces, plastic cards and packages daily using codes such as OCR, barcodes, 2D codes, Postal Barcodes and many more. Our products have given document integrity and variable print quality confidence to our customers for 20 years, optimising their processes, enhancing their product quality and increasing their profitability.

Established in 1994, Lake Image Systems has its roots in High Speed and Industrial Imaging technologies.

With a focus on applications in harsh and difficult environments, we recognised the opportunities for emerging machine vision technologies within the Printing and Mailing industry and installed our first system for a supermarket loyalty card programme in late 1994.

Since then we have installed over 2000 systems around the world, and become the leading solutions provider for all variable print and document integrity applications within the printing, mailing and packaging industry. Our systems inspect, verify, track and report on millions of documents, printed pieces, plastic cards and packages daily, optimising our client’s productivity, enhancing their quality and increasing their profitability.

Founded by Martin Keats, Paul Smith and Paul Stinson, and headquartered in the UK, Lake Image remains privately owned. Year on year growth and profitability enables us to fund our constant hardware and software development programmes, supporting the continual evolution of our products and services.

Established in 1998, Lake Image Systems Inc, (Henrietta, NY USA) provides development, manufacturing, sales and service for the North and South American markets, while Lake Image Systems France (Marseille, France) provides sales and service for Continental Europe. Lake Image Systems ASIA (Singapore) provides sales and service support for a growing network of distributors within the Asian territory.

History

1994: Lake Image Systems is established in Aylesbury, UK. With roots in high speed and industrial imaging, the company begins to explore opportunities for machine vision technologies within the printing and mailing industry. The Company integrates its first PerfectMatch solution for 100% automated mailpiece /plastic card verification.

1996: The Company launches its range of MaxRead Integrated camera modules. The first “all-in-one” sealed camera/optics/illumination module for the document processing market.

1998: Operations move to a new manufacturing facility in Wendover, UK.

The Company implements a new Quality Management System, achieving ISO9001:1994 Accreditation. Lake Image Systems Inc. is incorporated in Fairport, N.Y to support the growing demands from the North American market.

1999: The Company installs its first invisible ink verification system.

2001: The first generation of the new, IntegraVision product suite is launched, providing comprehensive integrity verification and reporting on a Windows platform. The Company completes its largest single site project to date. Based on the new IntegraVision, each system is configured with eight cameras, enabling automated matching and guaranteed integrity on more complex mailings than previously achievable.

2003: The Company’s Quality Management System is updated and certified compliant with the new ISO9001:2000 standard.

2005: With continued growth the Company opens new development, manufacturing and service facility in both the US (Henrietta NY) and UK (Tring, Herts)

2006: Now capable of managing twelve cameras per system the company completes its largest project, with over eighty cameras installed at a single site.

IntegraScan is launched globally at IPEX 06, taking the IntegraVision product range to the continuous and narrow web printing markets.

2007: Lake Image Systems France (Marseille) is established to support the sales and service demands of Continental Europe. Further IntegraVision development now enables the implementation of sixteen cameras per system, with our largest single integration achieved on a booklet making process.

The Company installs its first IntegraVision Server systems for enterprise wide document tracking and integrity.

2008: Lake Image Systems Asia (Singapore) is established to support a growing network of distributors throughout the Asian, Far-East and Australian territories.

2009:Lake Image release IntegraVision Server V3, the company's first server based MIS system for enterprise wide mail printing and processing management and integrity reporting. This is swiftly followed by a series of installation within Europe and Asia, the largest consisting of fourteen multicamera IntegraVision clients, with real time, non-sequential file processing functionality in a shared job, transactional environment.

2009: Recognising the growing demands for comprehensive print quality and data integrity functionality within the same platform, Lake Image Web Technologies is launched to specifically develop print quality inspection tools for the continuous print market. These tools will be integrated within the existing Lake Image product portfolio, increasing the company’s capabilities within the wider print market.

2010: The Discovery platform is launched. Combining all the previous IntegraVision developments with comprehensive print quality inspection, colour processing and full MIS capabilities. Discovery represents the most powerful and flexible suite of inspection, integrity, management and reporting tools for the print and finishing market available.

2013: The GR and GE range of integrated, digital imaging modules is launched, moving Discovery to the GigE platform and enabling less complex integration for OEM markets.
